This website was designed and implemented to help remove the current electrical grid from the USA. Our home page mentioned a number of items that are wrong with the grid, and we urge you to explore this site and contribute knowledge to better our technology for electricity and your understanding of why the current Electrical Grid needs to be replaced.

We want to remind anyone reading this of these important themes: The Removal of the Grid will not happen overnight. It will probably not happen within ten years. This is not a partisan subject.

The site was set up because there was no advocacy site for the removal of the Grid. You can find lots of talk on the web advocating for a decentralized electrical system, but no organization or plans to push this forward. Most sites that push to be “off-grid” are environmental sites. I have nothing against the move to become self sufficient in power, but I do have problems with examples shown on these sites, i.e. very wealthy celebrities that can afford the latest and greatest energy system no matter what the cost, or power structures that are so spartan that most people could not live a normal life. This site advocates for everyone in the USA and our country as a whole.

As I write this, a new energy bill is being circulated in Washington DC. This bill provides subsidies for new nuclear power plants, Smart Grid Systems and other Grid Enhancing spending. We need to change the direction fast. New Nuclear Power Plants will take at least 40 to 60 years to pay off. The Electric Grid in general and the Smart Grid in particular are hazardous to our National Security and do nothing to curb costs or increase efficiency. The move towards decentralization must begin quickly.

See the Goal page to learn what is being advocated.

We are located in Modesto,  California. This is a unique spot for setting up a non-profit group because of the abundance of  four year Universities withing a 2 hour radius of this town to draw an extremely qualified Board of Directors from and to help with other aspects of applied academic research. Universities within reach of Modesto in order of closest to furthest, California State University Stanislaus, University of California (UC)  Merced, University of the Pacific,  San Jose State University, UC Berkley, Cal State Sacramento, UC Davis,  San Francisco State University,  Cal State Hayward,  UC Santa Cruz &  Stanford University.

About me:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Biology

Work: Currently run a retail store. I worked 20 + years in the Agricultural Industry (seeds) as a research scientist, quality control manager, product manager and a company partner. I may not be an electrical engineer, but I have enough management knowledge to read people, sell a project and move a project(s) forward. I read. I study, I listen. I’ve had college level chemistry and physics and can understand the laws of physics which apply to electricity generation, distribution and use. I’m taking on this project because no one else has. I believe that I can be beneficial with lobbying, grant writing and administrative efforts.

During my years in the Seed Industry,  I’ve had the great pleasure to travel and meet many people in many different countries. I’ve traveled to Canada, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, England, France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and Uruguay, as well as most of the United States. The one thing I can say from all the travel is that people are pretty much the same where ever you go. Everyone has similar goals and dreams and most people are good at heart, no matter what the country or area within our country. Most people want to be treated right and getting electricity reliably and inexpensively are targets for everyone around the world.

In my Younger days I worked in food processing  plants. In restaurants as waiter, cook, dishwasher and busboy. As a cement finisher. I mowed lawns and was even a paperboy. I come to you as a Navy kid that moved around in my youth to a great extent. I’ve had quite a life journey and look forward to this next phase.

I have a deep concern for this country, its economy and our energy use.  I have seen costs for electricity rise and rise with nothing but excuses as to why as ratepayers, we must always pay more.  We do not have to pay more!  It is time to become customers again, appreciated for purchasing a product instead of vilified for using it.
